If you’ve been following this site for more than a few weeks, by now you ought to know just how magical apple cider vinegar is. It provides so many
amazing benefits that even the most dedicated of health nerds would have a hard time keeping track of them all.
Today, we’re going to focus on one part of the body – the face – and explore what apple cider vinegar can do for it. But first, let’s address something I know at least a few of you are thinking.
“I ALREADY HAVE A FAVORITE COSMETIC LINE. WHY DO I NEED APPLE CIDER VINEGAR?”
To put it bluntly, if said cosmetic line is produced by a major company and sold in a large commercial store, it very likely contains a number of toxic chemicals. There’s also the cost to think about; while many commercial cosmetic products are designed for one purpose, a single bottle of apple cider vinegar will accomplish several things – including these four.
#1 – AGE SPOT REMOVAL
Time’s rough, ain’t it? Not only does it make you feel old – it also gives you spots as a reminder! Kick those spots straight to the curb and show time who’s boss with the help of apple cider vinegar.
The alpha hydroxy acids in apple cider vinegar work away old, dead skin that’s overstayed its welcome. Place a dab of apple cider vinegar on a cotton ball and apply it directly to the spot. Let the vinegar sit there for about 30 minutes, then wash the spot and dry it. Repeat this twice a day. You should notice significant changes within a matter of weeks.
#2 – ACNE TREATMENT
Whether you’re a teenager or a grown adult, acne can be embarrassing and distracting. Reclaim the attention of all those who behold your selfies with apple cider vinegar!
It will remove harmful bacteria as well as excess dirt and debris from your pores. Get yourself some apple cider vinegar and dilute it in water at a ratio of one part ACV to three parts water. Then, soak a cotton pad in this mixture and apply it directly to your face after you’ve washed it. Do this twice daily.
#3 – WRINKLE REDUCTION
Apple cider vinegar contains beta-carotene – an antioxidant that combats the free radical damage behind wrinkles and other signs of aging. When applied to skin, it restores a youthful, healthy appearance.
Dilute your ACV as per the instructions in the last point. Get yourself a cotton pad, soak it in the mixture and apply this directly to the wrinkles.
#4 – TOXIN REMOVAL
Say you’re just getting into the whole ‘natural beauty product’ trend. Chances are, you’ve got a lot of toxins built up on your face thanks to the commercial products you used before your epiphany.
This can be fixed, my friend.
Apple cider vinegar is a diuretic; it promotes the excretion of toxins and waste. You know the drill – dilute, soak and spread!
A WORD OF PRECAUTION
If you’ve got particularly sensitive skin, using an apple cider vinegar mixture that’s too strong can burn you. After you’ve diluted it, test the mixture on a small area of your hand. If it feels fine, go on to test it on a small area of your face. If you feel uncomfortable burning, add more water and try again until it no longer hurts.
